Winterizing in Texas
Posted on Oct 28th, 2022
In the winter your yard needs a little extra love and care for the dropping winter temperatures. It is best to mow to a different height, keep the lawn clean, and weed during the off-season.
Your home needs extra care inside and out, too. Getting your chimney and furnace inspected should be top things to do. Check out these two articles to see other ideas of things to take care of.

Spring Fire Department Safety Tips
Posted on Feb 8th, 2022
The Spring Fire Department has all kinds of safety information they want to share with all residents at Northwood Pines!
Send a message to http://springfd.org/contact-us/ and choose “Fire Prevention” as the topic and ask for information to be mailed to you! They may provide coloring books, “how-to” booklets on making fire escape plans, First Aid, smoke alarm safety and more! We love working together with property owners to ensure the safety of all communities.
Here are just a few KEY reminders the Fire Department never wants you to forget.
NEVER go to bed with candles burning and/or portable heat sources unattended.
Park in your DRIVEWAYS whenever possible and leave enough room in your neighborhood streets for fire trucks to safely drive through to an emergency.
CHECK your smoke alarms, make sure they are working! If you don’t have smoke alarms, be sure to install them on EVERY level of your home, including inside and outside ALL sleeping areas.
Always CLOSE DOORS! A closed door can actually impede a fire’s flames and toxic smoke giving you time to safely escape in the case of a fire. Open doors give fire more oxygen and the flames can easily move into new places where there is more fuel to burn.

NOTICE: YOU CAN HELP PREVENT FLOODING
Posted on Oct 29th, 2021
NOTICE: YOU CAN HELP PREVENT FLOODING
Northgate Crossing MUD No. 1 (the “Water District”) has observed that tree limbs and other debris are being discarded into the drainage channel that runs along the back property line of many of the homes in the Water District. These drainage channels as well as the Levee are owned, operated and maintained by the Water District. When trash and debris are discarded into the drainage channels, storm water flows along the drainage channel are impeded which can result in downstream flooding. The Water District requests that everyone observe the proper procedure for discarding trash and debris, and refrain from discarding prohibited items in the drainage channels. Bear in mind that it costs the Water District to remove the trash and debris and restore the drainage channel to proper operational flows. It is the intent of the Water District to monitor the drainage channels, and in instances where debris is discarded into the drainage channels the party responsible for will be back charged the cost incurred by the Water District to clean the drainage channels. Let’s be good neighbors and keep our drainage channel freely flowing.
